Lagerfeld-era image director Éric Pfrunder has left Chanel. Pfrunder was also appointed artistic director for fashion image alongside Virginie Viard by Chanel chief executive Alain Wertheimer after Karl Lagerfeld’s death in a bid for continuity. He was with the French megabrand for nearly four decades.
Mackage appoints new chief executive, plans to phase out fur. The Canadian luxury outerwear company has named fashion industry veteran Tanya Golesic as its new chief executive. Golesic has led teams at labels including Michael Kors, Jimmy Choo, Canada Goose and Ralph Lauren and will focus on shoring up the brand’s retail footprint, sustainability efforts and product offering.
Moda Operandi appoints chief merchandising officer. The e-commerce site has named April Hennig to the newly created role, effective August 30. The former president of Los Angeles-based brand Jonathan Simkhai will oversee product strategy, category expansion, merchandise planning and brand partnerships and experiences.
Pinault and Pigasse join forces on entertainment-focused SPAC. The family corporations of French business billionaire Francois Pinault and banker Matthieu Pigasse announced on Wednesday the creation of I2PO, a SPAC aiming to raise an initial €250 million ($294.50 million). The SPAC will be led by Iris Knobloch, I2PO’s chairman and chief executive, who built her career at WarnerMedia.
