LVMH adds to board of directors
LVMH has appointed Sophie Chassat to its board of directors. The appointment will be confirmed at the next ordinary shareholder's meeting. Chassat is a consultant in corporate philosophy and branding through her consulting company Intikka. She previously graduated with a degree in philosophy and taught at high school and university level for seven years.

New Balance appoints president and CEO
New Balance has named Joe Preston as its new president and chief executive officer. He will replace current president and chief executive Rob DeMartini, effective December 31. Preston joined New Balance in 1995 as a senior product manager and most recently served as the company's chief commercial officer. His predecessor DeMartini held his role at New Balance for 12 years.

Avon names chief beauty & brand officer
Avon has appointed James Thompson as chief beauty & brand officer, effective November 1 2018. Thompson joins the company from Diageo, a spirits producer, where he held the role of chief marketing and innovation officer for the North America region. James will report to chief operating officer Jonathan Myers.

Maureen Chiquet joins MatchesFashion board of directors
MatchesFashion has appointed Maureen Chiquet, the former chief executive of Chanel, to its board of directors as non-executive director. Trevor Mather, chief executive of Autotrader, an automobile business, will also join the board. Chiquet was previously chief executive at Chanel for nine years. She departed the company in 2016.
